Recruitment and Training of Staff

Diddy Dolphins Swim School recognises that anyone may have the potential to abuse children in some way and that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure unsuitable people are prevented from working with children:

·         All staff complete an application form which will elicit information about an applicant's past and a self-disclosure about any criminal record.

·         Consent is taken from an applicant to seek information from the Criminal Records Bureau.

·         Teaching staff are required to attend recognised Continual Professional Development (CPD) training courses which include child protection awareness training, to ensure the development of a positive culture towards good practice and child protection.

It is not the responsibility of anyone working in Diddy Dolphins Swim School to decide whether or not child abuse has taken place. However, if you would like to raise a matter with us regarding our child protection policy or any other issue regarding the wellbeing of a child under our supervision, please contact Alexis Hall who is the owner of Diddy Dolphins Swim School.

DOUBLE NAPPY SWIMMING POLICY

We ask that all our babies & toddlers wear a double nappy system. This refers to a paper swim nappy (disposable or reusable) to be worn with a neoprene nappy over the top. We recommend the Splash about “Happy Nappy” which is made of neoprene which supports your little one with cuffs around the waistband and thighs – making sure any accidents stay inside! Incidentally it is worth noting that swimming nappies are not waterproof! Do not change your baby until you get to the pool.

Please take a look at their website for lots of lovely designs.

Important information: The passing of solids into the water can create a serious risk of an infection called Cryptosporidium being passed into the swimming pool, we must cancel all classes and close the pool until it has been cleared and treated correctly to ensure its safe to be used.

Please ensure you enter the water with a double nappy set up for your little one.
